Valerie Segrest and Maria Givens speak about the history of Native Food Systems on Mazon panel

Tahoma Peak cofounders and partners Valerie Segrest and Maria Givens spoke on a panel with Mazon’s Mia Hubbard for the organization’s “Insider Briefing Series.”

The panel explored the destruction of food systems as a colonial tool of genocide, and how these colonial legacies impose continuing barriers for tribal communities. Rooted in this experience, we’ll discuss the powerful movement to support the reemergence of traditional food systems in Indian Country.
